Recently we installed Best Practice’s “BP premier” patient management package for the University of Sydney. This was a complex undertaking as the database had multiple connections to 3rd party providers and specialists, along with the patient data. As the practice was expanding, there was little room for server infrastructure with it’s associated cooling and battery backup. We also refreshed all the computers with new ones running Windows 10. New Cisco phones were installed on each desk and multi tray printers were installed for each practitioner.

We had to make the application link from the cloud to specialist local devices such as ECG machines, Spirometry devices and a Kiosk Self Service check-in system.

We also implemented a cloud scanning solution, utilizing high-speed Fujitsu scanners to assist the practice in going paperless. As the scanned data grew, we have been adding disk space dynamically. The dynamic cloud solution is a good fit as the database size had outgrown the local storage.

Students can also now book their own appointments via http://sydney.edu.au/health-service/services. This booking page connects to our online system
