Cloud computing can give you access to your business data and applications from anywhere at anytime from any mobile device, at a reasonable price. The cloud gives small businesses access to technologies that previously were out of their reach and lets them compete with both other small businesses and larger ones.
Your data is kept in a secure facility in North Ryde. Physical access to the facility is severely restricted. Online, noone will be able to access your data apart from Lockenet and you. Microsoft and the Government cannot see the contents of your cloud.
Running a server in your office requires a clean space, cooling and constant power. An outage can cost your business tens of thousands of dollars and your servers may be unavailable for days. Yes, you have the data in your office but can you read that data?
Without internet you may experience downtime. You may wish to setup a backup internet connection or you may have one already. If you lose power and internet in your office grab a laptop and connect to the cloud via "personal hotspot" on your phone. Otherwise you could head to a location that has internet and login.
Just ask us and we will give you a copy of your data. You can download it yourself using common file transfer tools. Normally we ask for 90 days notice before a complete exit from our environment.
We recommend NBN Fibre to the node or premises, midband ethernet, Telstra cable. We normally don't recommend ADSL or ADSL2 (reliabilty) or Satellite internet (slowness).
Run a test on your internet at http://www.speedtest.net. You will need at least 10mbs downstream and 2mbs upstream.
Normally we don't put in a VPN unless an application requires it or you have a special application that won't work with Remote Desktop.
We can host financial, medical and personal information. We will lock it down unless you tell us otherwise.
